You will soon be seeing a new Alfa Romeo SUV on the UK's roads, the Stelvio. It will come in three trim choices – the Stelvio, the Stelvio Super and the Stelvio Tecnica.
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio will have stylish 17-inch alloy wheels, black fabric seats, 8.8-inch Alfa Connect and an 8-speaker audio system. With safety in mind it will boast an Integrated Brake System (IBS), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) and pedestrian detection, along with parking sensors, cruise control, electric tailgate and dusk and rain sensors.
The additional Luxury Pack includes full grain leather seats in a choice of black, brown, red or beige as well as real wood inserts. The Sport Pack comes with heated sports steering wheel, specific grip and leather wrapping, racing-style leather seats in black, red or brown, aluminium inserts and steel pedals. All premium materials real wood and fabrics carefully chosen for their look and feel will be used.
Top Notch Performance
The initial engine choice will be limited to either a 2.0-litre Turbocharged petrol engine or a 2.2-litre Diesel engine. The new petrol engine is a 4-cylinder unit built entirely of aluminium with carbon drive shaft that gives 280hp. It will go from zero to 62mph in just 5.7 seconds and up to a top speed of 143mph.
The 2.2-litre Diesel engine will be available with two power outputs: 210hp at launch with a 180hp option following shortly after. The 210hp version will reach a top speed of 133mph and accelerates from zero to 62mph in 6.6 seconds. Both Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV engines are teamed with the ZF automatic 8-speed transmission, specifically calibrated for fast, smooth gear shifts.
The driver will be able to select from three modes of dynamic behaviour through the Alfa D.N.A selector. Depending on the type of drive they want, or is suitable for the upcoming journey, they can choose between a Dynamic, Natural and Advanced Efficiency mode. And thanks to the Q4 all-wheel drive system, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is capable of overcoming any sort of terrain.
There are a whole host of safety systems that come as standard including a Forward Collision Warning (FCW) with Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross-Path Detection and Active Cruise Control.
Alfa Connect Infotainment
The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is equipped with the Alfa Connect system which is controlled from the Rotary Pad and the display incorporated in the dashboard. This latest-generation infotainment system controls the DAB digital radio along with a Bluetooth system to give hands-free communication and the ability to play audio from USB and smartphones devices. All versions have an 8.8" display as standard.
This SUV will be a striking addition to the superb Alfa Romeo line-up and will place the manufacturer as a viable alternative in the SUV segment.
